San Francisco 49ers Anquan Boldin Announces $1 Million Endowment

SAN JOSE – November 13, 2014 – San Francisco 49ers Wide Receiver Anquan Boldin, a leader on and off the field for 12 years, today announced that he and his wife, Dionne Boldin will personally provide a charitable gift of $1 million to the Anquan Boldin Foundation. This endowment will be utilized to dedicate an annual distribution of scholarships to high school graduates.

Scholarships will be awarded annually based on students’ academic achievements, their contributions in the community and who demonstrate the need. This fall, the Anquan Boldin Foundation distributed $10,000 scholarships to four high-school graduates.

Boldin, the 2014 winner of the prestigious NFL Players Association Byron “Whizzer” White Award and also this season’s 49ers recipient of the Walter Payton Man of the Year, has for over a decade shown continued dedication to the community. The Anquan Boldin Foundation’s mission is to expand the educational and life opportunities of underprivileged youth and has showcased charitable activities in Phoenix, Baltimore, South Florida and San Francisco Bay Area.

“My wife and I are very blessed to have the opportunity to provide this $1 million endowment,” said Boldin. “In my football career, using this platform in order to give back has always been important. Establishing this gift will allow my Foundation to help youth in a more effective way, and to continue our distribution of scholarships to deserving students.”

  1. God bless you, sir……. To me, there is nothing more noble than helping our youth. Children learn what they live; If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.
You, sir, have made their world a nice place in which to to live.
